Josh Ball injury: Latest after Cowboys backup OL suffered a ‘significant hip injury’
The Dallas Cowboys have suffered another blow as their offensive lineman, Josh Ball has sustained an effective injury which will possibly require time to heal.
Ball suffered a hip injury in Sunday’s concluding preseason game.
The head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Mike McCarthy said that Ball’s injury is “significant” and it will take “multiple weeks”.
Meanwhile, Ball’s injury will require the Dallas Cowboys to determine whether to put him on season-ending injured reserve.
Josh Ball is expected to avoid surgery. Still, an extensive absence is ahead for the Cowboys’ 2021 fourth-round pick. Ball is eligible to return this season if included in the initial 53-man roster Tuesday before being placed on injured reserve. https://t.co/R3xxoOy15t

The offensive lineman could come back at any time after four weeks if they keep him on the first 53-player roster before putting him on injured reserve.
During the training camp, Ball worked at tackle and guard. He has commenced his first two preseason games at right guard and then at right tackle during Sunday’s game.
The fourth-round draft pick was absent from this rookie year as he has sustained an injury to his ankle. Subsequently, he missed out in 2022.
The Dallas Cowboys, however, are left with players such as Asim Richards, Tyron Smith, Terence Steele, Matt Waletzko, Tyler Smith, Matt Farniok, Brock Hoffman, T.J. Bass, and Zack Martin.
